What happens next
Send a request
Tell me the email you use for Google Play, then answer a few quick questions about your phone, country and age.
Testing with a partner or cat-sitter? They need their own Android phone and their own request. Mention each other in the form’s optional question and I’ll invite you together.
Hear back within a day
I’ll email to say I’ve got your request. When the test build is ready, I’ll add your email to the private tester list and send everyone the joining link. Sending the form doesn’t install anything or enrol you yet.
Try it when it suits you
Add your cat, or a made-up one, and record something. Send feedback whenever you have something to share.
How much is involved?
If you can, stay opted in to the Google Play test for 14 days in a row and try the app during that time. You don’t need to open it every day or leave a positive review.
A few thoughts in your own words are enough. The optional things to try cover reminders and shared care.
Testing is free, voluntary and unpaid. Joining doesn’t start a subscription, and you can stop at any time.
Questions people ask
Can I use my real cat?
Yes, it’s up to you. Your own cat or a made-up one both work. It’s a test version, so I can’t guarantee nothing will be lost, but I’ll do my best to keep your records, and the plan is that you carry on using the app as normal once it’s public.
How long does early access last?
There’s no fixed end date. I can’t promise a launch date or that the service will never be interrupted, but I’ll tell you before your access changes.
Can I test with someone I share care with?
Yes, please. Sharing is the bit I most want to see working in real life. Each of you needs an Android phone with Google Play and your own request, using your own Google Play email. Once you’re both in, one of you invites the other from the app.
I have an iPhone. Can I take part?
Not yet, sorry. OurCat is Android-only for now. If you share care with someone, you’ll both need Android to try sharing together.
Can I test if I don’t have a cat?
Yes. A made-up cat works for everything I ask.
What if I’m outside the eligible countries or need help?
Email mycatapps@gmail.com. I can help with questions, but can’t promise access outside the current test countries.
OurCat isn’t a veterinary or emergency service. Keep your usual care arrangements for anything urgent.
